I hate this time of the year!

No, that's a lie. But I do hate everyone going bananas over presents and stuff.

We're not poor but we sure as hell aren't rich either, especially not since I started studying. I've told everyone in the family that this Christmas will be somewhat cheaper in terms of presents since we still have to pay the rent but have less money.

Now, that the kids get dissapointed when I tell them there will be no X-Box 360s', their own DVD-players, new bikes, mini-motos or any electronic devices with a pricetag that equals what we pay in rent, that I can take. My kids usually get happy with whatever they get, unless it's clothes. They hate that, and to be honest, so do I .

And then there's the other "adult" person in the household. She makes a bigger fuzz over shopping for Christmas than all my relatives, including the kids, a total of 14 people in this municipality, combined. She's so stressed out that she will make her self sick just in time for Christmas Eve. By doing that, she removes every single streak of Christmas spirit I've managed to gather the last two weeks. She's so obsessed with having a joyful Christmas that she makes everyone, including herself, miserable instead.

I think I'll do some laundry just to get out of this mad-house.

When Santa comes with with the less expensive gifts, I know your little angles will smile a be truely happy for what ever they get :)

And your wife.. I guess she is like every other woman in the world at this time. But me then, since I have no reason to be stressed out for this holliday.. Give her a hug and tell her to sit down for a sec and get her breath.

BUT be careful..you might get knocked out by doing that ;o)

Hug??? She won't let me near her, for any reason...

This might seem like a strange idea, but perhaps you guys could come to America for a vacation, everything here is going to be SO much cheaper for you than in Sweden (lord when I went to Stockholm last February I nearly died at the prices, VERY expensive). How would that be for a Christmas gift?! Maybe a week in Orlando - it is decidedly warmer than Sweden and I bet both your wife and kids would love it.

Oooh, I'd love going to Orlando for a week but as I've stated before, we ain't poor be we sure as hell ain't rich either. :)

You really chose the right city for your vacation. The only town in Scandinavia that's even more expensive is Oslo, the capitol of Norway.

uh-oh my friend and I are planning a trip to Oslo soon - guess I better start saving now.

Oslo is a beutiful city but you might get better value for money in Trondheim, Bergen or any other norwegian city. :)
