First the appology: Forgive me for not always answering your comments. The only excuse I have is that I'm writing rather slow, since I check every word that I'm uncertain off. This is very time consuming. It's not me ignoring you, but rather my time for blogging that has been severely minimized. Please forgive me, all of you who have commented and sent me e-mails the last few days.
Yesterday we had a very tragic accident not far from where I live. A nineteen year old man died while saving his girlfriend. Apparently she was trying to commit suicide by throwing herself in front of a train. The young man called 911 and pleaded for help. The operator who took the call heard the whole drama as the youngster pushed his girlfriend from the track and then got sucked back by the wind as the train passed. He died instantly.
He deserves a heroes funeral.
I've had my first english lesson today and was asked to do a test. I passed with only one word spelled wrong. Then I had to choose a book that I'm supposed to write a review of. I picked The color of water by James McBride. I believe that it's just the right book for me. Anyone read it?

The story of the young man dying is absolutely tragic. I hope he DOES get a hero's funeral.

Holy cow! That poor guy. His name definitely deserves recognition beyond a sentence in the local newspaper.
Great news on the test! I know a few Americans who couldn't pass a standard english test. Hell, they'd probably get their name wrong.

The book is one of my favorites...read several years ago and I still think about it!
Read the book for bookclub a few months ago - it is quite good, an easy read but interesting and holds one captive. Good choice to review!
